They have things like chicken strips and corn dogs as well
Slow service, only ones in line and had to wait, staffing issues cook and waiter apparently aame person. Food waz o.k.
Mediocre at best. We stopped to have drinks and a small dinner here. Chicken was rubbery like it had been cooked in a microwave, vegetables were over seasoned and the rice was completely bland. My margarita was so sweet I couldn't drink it.
Every time we go in the food is fantastic the service is awesome. Make sure you try the different kinds of salsa. they have a hot, medium and mild.. the chips are freshly made, which is also a plus. The queso is great, just remember it has a kick.if you like sweet tea.. I think you'll like this sweet tea. Great place for kids. When they are also willing to pull some tables together if you've got a big group going.
jennifer is bad azz..food is great..definitely try the border bowls
Cozy place to sit down for a bite. I ordered flavored tea (mango then I got peach). I got the ultimate fajitas about 17.49 and the lunch special 7.99 for 2 enchiladas. One chicken and one cheese. The chicken, steak, pork and shrimp were soft, tender and delicious. The vegetables looked like a variety of squash, variety of bell peppers and onions. It came with the usual 3 flour shells (you can get corn for no extra charge) . The enchiladas were great. The chicken was flavorful and tender. The sauce on top I switched around and there was no extra charge for switching the toppings. And for dessert I got cinnamon sprinkled Carmel stuffed churros with a scoop of ice cream. The staff were helpful and attentive, my waiter was Jason
Today is Veterans Day. My husband spent 24 years in the Army. I want to thank On The Border for giving him a free meal today. The Empanadas were fantastic as usual. Tried the peach tea. I now have a new favorite drink. 😊Our waitress was so attentive. Recommend highly.
I love this place so much just wish we had one here in Fort Smith Arkansas
We ate the all you can eat tacos beans and rice. The tacos were good but the beans and rice were something to be desired. Beans had no seasoning and we're just smashed up brown beans. Rice was not done and had no seasoning.
Stopped in for lunch. Seated quickly and served chips and salsa right away. Salsa has a little kick. Ordered the lunch combo "pick two" with endless rice and beans. Had the ground beef enchilada and crispy chicken taco. Enchilada wasn't served very hot and the beef tasted a little off (bad). Chicken taco was very good. The bottom fell out because they sat it in the enchilada sauce and it became soggy. But scooped it up with a fork. Rice and beans were nothing to write home about. I saved room to try the sopapillas and I'm sure glad I did. You get two sopapillas covered in cinnamon sugar and served with honey and chocolate sauce on the side. Yummy! They came out hot and ready to eat. Best part of the meal. Waitress was nice and restaurant clean and not very busy. Will go back just for the sopapillas!! Restaurant has a bar area and outside seating.
The waitress was friendly and accommodating. Plenty of waitstaff. Meal was good, my salad was huge, pictures follow. We haven't eaten here in awhile, as we live in the boonies now and don't get over on to this side of town much anymore.
My mom and I love OTB!!! 41st Street location is the only one we go to!! They love us and make us feel special!! They always know what we like to order!!!The whole crew is awesome!! Especially Matt, Caleb and both Erics!!! Great food and atmosphere!!!! <3
We always have wonderful service and food here! But I specifically want to thank you guys for remaining open during this time. Tonight I called in a to-go order. When I got there, it was busier than I expected. Other customers were not being the friendliest about the wait time, others being helped first or faster, etc. Both of the ladies working (Melissa and a sweet pregnant woman- she didn't help me directly so I didn't catch her name) the counter/to-go area kept their cool and kept a pleasant composure, all while balancing customers in person and multiple, back to back phone calls. You guys are awesome! Thank you again for staying opening and making the rest of us dinner!
The frozen strawberry daiquiri was awesome our waiter was very attentive she's very nice
I had a super strange experience. I sat at the bar and was so confused because I could clearly hear two different songs playing. It didn’t take me long to realize that one of the men sitting at the bar had his own speaker sitting on the bar and was playing his own music. Why wasn't he asked to not do that? It was incredibly loud and obnoxious. The service was mediocre. Took quite a while to get water and chips and salsa after I sat down, and it continued to take a while to get refills even though the bar and restaurant seemed quite slow. Don’t get the tortilla soup. It’s so bland.
Excellent food and price. Fastest service I've had in years. Jason M did a great job!
Well it was my first time and. It was a good experience. The service was excellent the staff was very polite and helpful the food was delicious and superb I give it five out of five stars because they cleanliness and the food quality why is great my only complaint was a wish they put more chicken in the in the tacos there was a lot of chicken but it was so great excellent flavors so I forgot to take pictures and helpful The food was delicious and superb I give it 5 out of five stars because the cleanliness a and the food quality was great. I would love to eat hear again thank you for the great meal.
Pretty good just don't waste money on the margaritas I ALMOST never drink alcohol and got a jumbo and didn't have the slightest buzz...I get a buzz from 1 low point beer. Also the queso turned to paste within minutes of getting to our table. Other than that the tacos and the service and atmosphere was pretty good!
Ordered a 3 item dinner with 1 Hard beef taco and 2 chicken enchiladas in sour cream sauce with a side of guacamole, Sopipillas and salsa. Food was cold when I arrived at home 5 minutes after pickup. The enchiladas were dry and no seasoning and the tortillas hadn't been cooked all the way through. The taco shell was extremely hard and tasted stale. The Sopipillas tasted like they were cooked in old grease and the honey given with them had a bad taste to it not pleased at all with my meal I couldn't even eat it. The kitchen needs to do better. I wont be back.
Great food and lots of it! I had the starter Nachos and couldn't eat it all
Literally just sat for 20 minutes and no one acknowledged us. We went up to ask if we could have our order taken and the server said “has no one taken care of y’all yet?” And then walked away and still no one came to offer us a drink let alone take our order. I’m a server and just find it funny how no one even had the decency to say “we will be with you in just one moment.”
I use to work here, their food is delicious! All my ex coworkers/managers were pretty nice & considerate! :)
I ordered the endless Beyond meat tacos (they really are endless!), and a Border brownie sundae, and I have to commend the waiter who served me, Peyton, (or Payton, I didn't catch the spelling) because even though the restaurant was really busy, he was still checking in frequently to see how things were, and another thing I have to commend him for was not trying to trick me with actual beef instead of serving me Beyond (I've heard too many stories of other restaurants doing this to vegans). The food was really good all around. One thing I'd say "Watch out" for is the salsa and tortilla chips they give you before you order, because the salsa is pretty spicy stuff.
Eric was our server. He was fantastic. Chips and salsa were very good and zesty. I loved the mango margarita. Tried the sampler and street tacos. Outside seating was pleasant.
Great food, and super friendly staff!
Me and my girlfriend and our son when there had a good time enjoyed our food and a waiter was very good and nice
It's hardly fair for me to write a review because I recently had major surgery and my sense of taste isn't what it was, but the food tasted good and it made me happy to eat it. I was pleased with the service and I would definitely tell someone to try On the Border.
I always love the food here. Sometimes service is great and sometimes, like last night, service us not great. Our waiter had no personality!
Food was really good, service was polite but slow in the kitchen
I tried the aged barrel mixed drink and the honey berry smasher and they were both fantastic. Followed by some chips and queso, it made for the perfect meal.
Very good quality and practicing social distancing. Fast friendly service.
Elliot one of the bar tenders is the best, if you go to the bar ask for him. Hes friendly and all around awesome!
They were very kind and bright some water out for my friends dog. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the evening and some great food.
Clean, 6 feet apart at all times. The waiters and waitresses are very sweet. Our food comes out good and hot everytime. No complaints. I don't normally like yellow caso but there caso is amazing.
I love this place! To me, there's not a whole lot you can really mess up with TexMex, so the shining point of a place is "Can they make modifications?" and "Is the salsa great?". The answer to both of these questions is a resounding YES! They have no problem doing the veggies in the fajitas well done. Many places use a mix, so they can't make modifications. Also, if you love a good salsa that's more than just blended tomato and cilantro, with chips that are always hot, fresh and crispy (they'll do no salt on them too), go here! I also have to give a shout to the staff. We've always had decent service and your glass is usually refilled long before it's empty..I only have 2 complaints: PLEASE for the love of all that's good in the world, LEVEL YOUR TABLES! You shouldn't have to worry you'll kick out what's holding up one leg of a table. Also, please do something with the bathroom. They are always so dark and funky.
It's a hit or miss type of place, sometimes it's on point and others it's just very average. Feels like the staff is nearing burnout.
I was highly disappointed with this On The Border! After finishing the meal I decided not to go to this location again. Myself and the group I was with didn't enjoy the meals we had. The food was bland and didn't have much flavor or spice to it. Less than traditional authentic Mexican which normally have both flavor and spice. Maybe it was just my taste buds that night, but I'm not a believer of On The Border.
Went here last week. It was my son, 3 grandkids and me. He told me they didn’t have a large table available to seat us. I told him a booth would be fine.(my grandkids are small) He told me they couldn’t do that. Why? If we are willing to sit that close what’s the difference? I understand the distancing because of the Covid but it would not have been any difference if there had only been 4 of us. He didn’t tell us how long of a wait it would be or anything!! He just said no and walked away!! It wasn’t that busy in there and I saw 2 men sitting at a long table by them self!!
Melissa was amazing. She took really great care of us. We also met Mary the assistant manager. They both made our experience memorable. We will definitely be back. Love the sangria swirl margarita!! 😂😂
Really impressed by their obvious commitment to safety and service. Excellent experience and delicious food!!
The waiter was great he was very smart and courteous. He brought us everything we needed without having to ask twice. The food was great hot and fresh. I will be returning very soon!
I ordered the Shrimp meal and it did not come out as pictured on the menu (they forgot to blacken them). Manager said she'd have them blacken mine when I pointed it out but you know you can't re-cook shrimp. Then my tortillas came to the table late after I already started eating. Too much money for lack of detail to the meal. My friends meal was swimming in oil.
I had a really great lunch experience there today, with my boyfriend and his son. Our server, Eliot, was fastidious, efficient, friendly, but not overbearing. Yes, we had a bit of a wait time at the end, to payout for our meal, but nothing to get irate over. All in all, On The Border has had delicious food (Love their nachos!) and awesome service.
It just wasn't worth the money. The service wasn't great all the way around. The food wasn't the best. I was disappointed. I blame covid! Lol
Their fajita family pack is the definition of great value!
A great place to eat, wonderful service! Clean, friendly staff. The food was excellent!
Now open for dine in lunch. Great food and service
Food was good but not waited on very fast!
The staff were courteous and helpful...i found the bartender to be very cordial and true to the bartender creed she was more of a listener than a talker but truly engaging. Silverware seemed clean and they wiped off our table before we sat down...i had no idea they gave such large portions so i needed a to go box. Maybe a tad pricey but for the portions it could be reasonable..1 entree with appetizer and drink will easily be 20 bucks and be sure to add a tip the staff will have earned it. Cant vouch for the restrooms...maybe next time...
This was nice but I generally like places with more of a mom and pop feel to them. The food was good but nothing out of this world. Service was great!
The server named Michael made the whole experience worthwhile! He was very helpful, showed common sense, was polite and courteous, and worked hard to be an entrancement to the experience, instead of trying to be the main show. He was EXACTLY what I look forward to in a dining experience!
